Gordon Walters hired Donald Tangwall to transport bags of ore from Arrey, New Mexico to a refinery in Virginia City, Montana. The shipments took place from September, 2008 to November of 2008. Twelve trucks were sent from the mining site in New Mexico but only ten arrived at the refinery. Walters could never explain what happened to the two missing truck loads.
These pictures were taken on March 9, 2009. They show the bags of ore from one of the missing trucks sitting in the parking lot of the “Bloomin Shack” which is a flower shop owned by Donald Tangwall’s wife. The shop is located on Hwy 87 heading north into Roundup, Montana.
Gordon Walters on March 13, 2009 was instructed to contact the authorities in Sierra County, New Mexico and in Roundup, Montana to report the missing truck. Walters said he would contact the authorities no later than March 20, 2009. Walters never contacted the authorities to report that one of the missing trucks was located.
Donald Tangwall was seen walking towards the cab of his light blue Mack semi truck with a yellow metal trailer attached to it in the Bloomin Shack parking lot at 4:30 pm on March 21, 2009. A bulldozer was puling into the parking lot at the same time with another unknown person driving it.
On March 21, 2009 around 4:30 pm, Donald Tangwall loaded the 16 bags of ore onto another trailer and moved them. We believe Tangwall was in New Mexico the week of March 12th and went back to Montana to move the ore on March 21st.
By 9:15 pm on March 21, 2009 the bags of ore were gone and again missing. Only the trailer which originally held the ore was left in the parking lot and back up in a full upright position ready to be hooked up to a semi tractor to be pulled away.
