Good day everyone I have been getting questions as to what has to be done to file a Treasure Trove Claim.
1. If you have found or located a treasure on Government land they will not recognize the claim. But you still have to file a Notice of Treasure Trove at the County Courthouse in the mining claims part of the cllerk's office.
2. You must give the exact location of where it is.
3. Have a Government mineral surveyor come to your claim and survey the claim and then have him fill out the lode claim papers for you. The mineral surveyor will research the claim for you to see if anyone else has filed a mining claim where the treasure trove has been filed at the County Courthouse.
4. Go to the Tesoro web site and you can see the other documents that have to be files.
5. You have to be able to protect the claim to establish ownership.
